I was in the library earlier today, accidentally bumped a table. Went to talk to the girl. Turns out her name is Ciarra Kemp, just graduated. We talked about what she was researching--Death. She's got some pretty interesting ideas, and it sounds like the experience to back it up. I offered to help, and then invited her to dinner. It's almost time, just have to wrap a few things up here.

We'll see.

Well, Baz moved out and I moved in, officially. It's a big place, really. All of my stuff barely took up two rooms. It'll be lonely living here all on my own...but I'm going to look into what Baz suggested a while ago, and convert the upstairs into some sort of lab. For what, I don't know. Stuff from the office, probably. But it can only be things that aren't too badly classified, or I'd get burned by the Watchers. Or maybe stuff for the Order.

I'll have to talk to Alph about building me some equipment, and warding off the upstairs separately from the rest of the house. To stop people from going in, but also to contain whatever I do in there.

Maybe I'll even talk to Nessa about decorating the place.

And I need to find the the Nosfertums and ask about the Fidelus charm. And I need to see if Baz will be my secret keeper.

So much to do.

I dropped by Baz's today. It's been a while since I've talked to him. Caught up on some stuff, had a drink. He told me the offer on the house still stands. I'm just waiting for him to owl me, then I'll pack up the little stuff I've got and move in. I'll have to find someone to redecorate. It'll do me more good as a lab than a big house. And I'll have to work more on the money. I've already secured a loan from Gringotts to pay Sebastian with, and I'll get another for the redecorating, I guess.

He's got it warded up well, but I want to be careful. I'm going to contact one of the Nosfertums. I hear they're both Enforcer's now, so it's getting even harder to differentiate between them. Hopefully one of them can help me with a Fidelus charm. I'm going to ask Baz to be my Secret Keeper.

I really, really, REALLY thought we'd got rid of this problem.

I guess not.

They showed up at that park. Ruined my little boating outing. So unfortunate.

Most of us there had those amulets. They weren't that horrible anyways. More mischevious.

Daniel was really worried. The rest of us were pretty relaxed. I guess I should have been more worried, but I did have the amulets.

Dan called backup. Callie and Quinn answered. Did one of those rituals with a bowl and crystals. I helped them hold it down.

I just wish I would learn some things about that at some point...

I'm...overwhelmed.

Baz and Alph apparently were talking. I showed up in the middle. He's talking about moving. Some big mansion. And he offered to give me his old house.

He's right..with the right work, it would be amazing to set up a few labs. Even some hiding places. I can talk to the Adeptus or Enforcer about getting it Fidelius'd. It's just..I don't know. I can't just take a house from my brother. No matter how much money he has.

I had to run, something at work. But I'll talk to him again. I'll take it, but I'll save and pay him back over time, with interest. It's times like these that I'm glad I have a family.

Fuck fuck damn hell shit. We lost it. The fucking Death Eaters got the drum. We didn't even get there soon enough to steal it from them. By the time we arrived, it was raining blood, felt like we were all going to die, and those bitches had already disapperated with the drum. Screw them.

We fought them. I was stupid again, summoned one at me to through him off guard, he just game at me with the Killing Curse. It was that bastard who tried to kill me before. I fell off my broom avoiding him, and fell to the ground. Woke up back in Mungos.

It's painful, but not like knowing we lost the fucking battle. That only leaves one left. We screwed this up. Maybe the Enforcer is right. Maybe we are all incompetent fools.

Staying with Sebastian isn't so bad. It's a big enough place that I can stay out of the way, small enough that it doesn't seem like I'm always in danger around the corner. Turns out he and Gabrielle are engaged. They told us when we were all at Alphs. I'll try and give them more time to themselves.

I spend most of my time at work anyways. Bad news in the Prophet today. Annah Krieger was killed. I read a lot of her husband's work, and some of hers. I'll have to go through my old Africa notes to look for connections. This may be a warning sign. I think the DP article mentioned Thulamela.

I really need to find a place of my own. I should talk to someone in the order about Fidelus.

He just busted right through my fucking door. So much for security. I need a better place to live. Somewhere that's not an open door for any assassin.

Why the hell did he pick me? I've done nothing to anger the Death Eaters. At least, that's what I assume he was. He never did say. But why would anyone else be out to get me?

He just busted right through...and my mirror was in my cloak, across the room. Stupid stupid stupid. ~~I got hit with~~ No. Don't even think about it. At least Adelaide showed up the moment I got my mirror. Kyrie too. I need to thank her, but she shouldn't have done it. It's not her think.

Adelaide yelled at me to get out. But that didn't penetrate through to my brain until after the fight. I wasn't thinking about anything but surviving.

I got hit with the shrapnel from the fucking bookcase that /I/ dropped on him. What an idiot, I am. I couldn't even manage to hit him with a binding charm. And the Adeptus had to dodge /two/ Killing Curses, one after the other. All because of me. If she'd died, it would have been on my head.

He got away. Said his name was Jake Ackhart. The Adeptus didn't ask me about it then. I don't even know if she's going to report the incident to the MLE. Maybe she won't. Maybe she thinks it was because of the thing, and she doesn't want to cause questions.

Daniel put me up for the night. Good man. I'm going to see if I can grab a bunk at Baz's house, until I can find a safer place of my own. Paranoid little boy that he is, I'm sure Baz's got a great security system.

I need to practice combat training more. The pain reminds me of that.

Half of me wants to fight back harder than ever, and get that sonofabitch that did this to me. The other half just wants to go hide in a dark corner and never come out. But that's what they want, I'm sure. I can't give in.

One thing's for sure. I'm not telling the family about this. They'll freak out. I will warn them to be careful, though.

I'm starting to think that combat training is more painful than the real thing.

When said training is from Enforcer Nosfertum, at least.

At least with Death Eaters, they're after you with an Avada Kedavra, and that's it. But here...shards of floor, stupefies...the reductos to the floor were the worst.

He wants me to take up unarmed and melee combat. Said he could teach advanced fencing. I'm looking into procuring a sword, but I don't know what kind to get. Maybe I'll owl the Enforcer. I'll find a different instructor for the basics--maybe even one of those Muggle fencing clubs. I don't want to bother someone with as much on their plate as I've got with someone completely new at it.

This is starting to look like a huge amount of work. Hopefully I can keep on top of my job, too.

I got my NEWT grades the day before the attack on the Ministry, and since there's not much to do in Mungos, I thought I'd write them in here:
